Digital rebrand

The Tasting Alliance manages elite wine and spirits competitions worldwide. They don’t just run events; they curate excellence in the industry. Their mission: “Elevate the global stage for exceptional wines and spirits.” We redesigned their website, aligning their digital presence with the sophistication of their brand. Our new design showcases their events and embodies the passion of fine beverage craftsmanship.

Plan of ATTCK

We approached the redesign of the wine and spirits competition website with a focus on creating a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that showcases the depth and breadth of the client’s expertise. The cornerstone of our strategy was developing an extensive taxonomy for the judged products, encompassing both wines and spirits across a diverse array of global regions. This taxonomic structure formed the foundation for an intuitive navigation system, allowing users to easily explore the vast world of fine beverages.

To bring this vision to life, we crafted a suite of custom page templates that highlight the nuanced attributes of each bottle. These templates beautifully display essential information such as tasting notes, aromatics, and expert reviews, providing a rich, immersive experience. A key feature of the product pages is their integration with the awards taxonomy, enabling viewers to sort and filter by accolades – a crucial functionality for a competition-focused platform. This seamless integration of product details and awards showcases the client’s role as a curator of excellence in the industry.

Beyond the core product showcase, we equipped the client with a full arsenal of digital marketing tools. This included a robust blog for industry insights and news, an event manager to promote and organize competitions, and team profile pages to highlight the expertise behind the judging process. We also implemented contact and lead generation forms, creating valuable touchpoints for user engagement. The result is a comprehensive digital ecosystem that not only presents the client’s competitions but also establishes them as a authoritative voice in the wine and spirits world, all while providing the flexibility to grow and adapt to future needs.

User experience design & strategy

The Tasting Alliance had an existing website that wasn’t meeting their needs. We needed to impress visitors with the wide range of topics covered, advanced search mechanics, upcoming competition events, updated lists of award-winners, and ultimately position them as thought leaders by highlighting long-form content produced by their team.

Branded illustrations

Custom graphic design is something we take a lot of pride in. We produced a suite of custom iconography to represent the array of notes associated with wine and spirits.

These unique elements, we call the “wink”, elevate the experience to another level, and in this case brings a sense of joy alongside their distinguished brand.

Customizable layout

In addition to building controlled layouts for their various product taxonomies, we used our custom layout platform, FLEX, to provide a distinctive experience across static pages.
